To me To Kill A Mockingbird is a story that gives a glimpse into the lives of many people from all different sides of the spectrum, it discusses racism and discrimination by class. There are children and adults, racists and"negro lovers". Generous people and the kind of people how wouldn't give you the time of day. The story is a vessel for all of the ideas that Harper lee has on the world. Her diction shows how she feels on the topics and 'gives a gives a glimpse into her life.
After reading the novel I felt I could relate with a few of the characters. Scout for example is a lot like me; shes been reading for as long as she can remember, just like me, she is a bit of a tom boy; hanging out with her brother and getting in to fights all the time, like i did when i was younger, and she is curious about everything around her, another attribute we have in common.
Mrs. Maudie is another character that I can see is similar to me. For one, she is an opinionated woman who doesn't give a hoot about what others think about her. She also loves to be outside in her garden, surrounded by her flowers. and, even though she is much older then me, i think we share a point of view about the world.
